Our Northwest Noggin undergraduate and graduate outreach volunteers are enthusiastic and informed, and regularly let knowledge serve by going places, making art, exploring brain research, sharing stories and listening to the questions and interests of community members in urban and rural K-12 public schools, coffee shops, museums, correctional facilities, houseless youth nonprofits, research conferences, Congress and more!
So what is it like to do outreach?
We regularly explore topics in neuroscience research and write up posts that describe where we went, what we discussed, the art we made and the scientific studies that we brought up in classrooms and other public spaces. You can learn more about these experiences at the link!

At Portland State University, undergraduates pursuing an interdisciplinary neuroscience minor often choose to write their own posts about their extensive outreach experiences, and we’ve gathered those for you to enjoy here.
