P:ear mentor training!

Past outreach volunteers have hugely enjoyed our “Noggin Wednesdays” at the p:ear homeless youth drop in center in downtown Portland, where young people who mostly sleep rough find a safe, warm space with great food, art supplies, and caring staff during the day.  Last year we set up a series of weekly visits to p:ear, and had a terrific time discussing the brain, screen printing t-shirts, messing up taste buds with miracle berries, and attaching electrodes to measure our own cortical activity…

We’d like to start up weekly visits to p:ear again in 2017, but in order to participate, volunteers must be at least 26 years old and attend a mandatory mentor training now scheduled for Saturday, January 14th.
