We did it!

WE BROUGHT REAL (EXTRA!) HUMAN BRAINS, thanks to the exceptional Yuri Sugano of the University of Chicago. This was the first time in the 50 year history of SfN that actual brain specimens were presented at the annual conference!

Teenagers undergo consequential brain changes, responding to environments and making mistakes. They are not adults. How others react impacts development, benefiting or undermining the trajectory of young lives. This year NW Noggin visited Oregon’s MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility, and discussed trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, bias in judicial and law enforcement, and what role neuroscientists might play in reform.
