For example, here’s the coronavirus – in pipe cleaners!
The white is the viral envelope, encasing the blue RNA instructions for building more viruses using our own cellular machinery. The glycoproteins on the surface (S, E and M) help the virus bind to specific human cells (including those in our respiratory tract) and get those viral instructions inside.
