Noggin in La Grande!

We’re collaborating with the Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (NEOAHEC) and with Greater Oregon STEM (GO-STEM) to discuss neuroscience research, make art and examine real human brains with students at the FREE MedQuest Camp in La Grande, Oregon!

We’ll drive to La Grande on Thursday, June 20, and work with ~75 students on Friday, June 21, and another 75 more on Saturday morning (6/22)…
Thursday, June 20th
Drive to La Grande, Oregon
We arrived!
261 miles from Portland; 4.5 hour drive
STAY: Alikut Hall, Eastern Oregon University
This is the EOU dorm you will be staying in. If you are coming up the 6th Street hill, continue to drive past the main part of campus and then turn left on G Avenue. Drive past the Fitness Center and turn left once you see a building with a red roof.
5 P.M. – Arrive at Alikut Hall. (MEREDITH LAIR will meet you to provide dorm keys). Please only park vehicles that you need immediate access to in the Alikut parking lot. Other vehicles can be parked in the gravel lot at Community Stadium.
6 P.M. – Dinner at EOU’s Hoke Cafeteria
Friday, June 21st

Brains, art and questions! 8:00am – 3:00pm

7:30 A.M. – Set up in Ackerman Hall 210, Eastern Oregon University
8 A.M. – NW Noggin brain activities
12 P.M. – Lunch for volunteers catered in Huber Auditorium (BH 102)
1 P.M. – Camp wrap-up in EOU Huber Auditorium (Badgley Hall 102). NW Noggin volunteers welcome to attend!
5 P.M. – Dinner courtesy of GO-STEM!! (thank you!)

7 A.M. – Breakfast and set up at La Grande Middle School, 1108 Fourth Street, La Grande, OR..! Please gather all dorm keys and return to Bill Griesar this morning.
9 A.M. – Community outreach in the morning with Greater Oregon STEM (GO-STEM).
Both breakfast and lunch provided by GO-STEM.
