Noggin heading to NIH!

Thanks to the American Brain Coalition, our outreach participants from OHSU, Portland State University and WSUV are heading to the NIH on Friday morning (4/29), to meet with Chris Thomas, Science Writer for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and a graduate of OHSU’s Neuroscience program..!

We’ll view prints by Spanish neuroanatomist Ramon y Cajal, in an NIH exhibit of his original neural cell illustrations. The exhibit opened on November 6, 2014, in the new Porter Neuroscience Research Center, Building 35 on the NIH Bethesda campus…

We’ll also enjoy new work by DC artist Rebecca Kamen, whose art is inspired by Cajal’s century old depictions of human neurons…

And our students will bring along their own modern, colorful, pipe cleaner interpretations of the the cells that make up brains…
