All Brain Awareness Lectures take place at:
The Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, Portland
and begin at 7:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: NW Noggin volunteers expected for set up at 5:30pm!
The latest advancements in brain-computer interface systems are shared by Dr. Leigh Hochberg, director of the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Professor of Engineering at Brown University, and Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs RR&D Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology. Dr. Hochberg’s pioneering BrainGate clinical trials demonstrate how these amazing technologies could provide communication and mobility for people with paralysis. With these ground-breaking tools, Dr. Hochberg presents a path to unlocking minds that have been, up until now, trapped by their condition.
Thanks to the OHSU Brain Institute, NW Noggin has 12 complimentary tickets to this event! We’ll staff a table loaded with brains and art before and after the show.
Please RSVP to griesar@pdx.edu, jleake@pdx.edu and aaeisen@pdx.edu
