OPAHEC/Noggin @ OHSU YES! Tour

WHAT: OHSU Imaging Tour from Youth Engaged in Science (YES!) for K-12 students from Siletz, Amity and Willamina schools
We did it! Many thanks to Binyam Nardos in Damien Fair’s lab, and Alex Stevens at the High-Field MRI Laboratory at OHSU for a #magnetic tour!

As part of our ongoing NW Noggin/Oregon Pacific Area Health Education Center (OPAHEC) “Synapses, Stories & Song” Spirit Mountain Community Fund supported outreach effort, we’ll bring ~30 K-12 students from Siletz Valley, Amity and Willamina schools to OHSU for a YES! Program tour of MRI imaging facilities, and an opportunity to discuss research and clinical careers with OHSU graduate and postdoctoral students, faculty and staff!

OPAHEC is recruiting student participants from their Health Professions clubs and providing significant transportation (the drive from Siletz is nearly three hours!). This will help connect some of the K-12 students with OHSU and PSU outreach participants before we spend time in Lincoln and Yamhill county schools with more brains, stories and art…
