DESCRIPTION:The movie “Alive Inside!” will be shown in the WSU Vancouver auditorium.  We’ll follow the screening with a panel of NW Noggin volunteers.  Here’s a complete list of our confirmed  panel participants…\n\nBill Griesar\, Instructor and Outreach Coordinator\, Neuroscience\, WSU Vancouver;  Neuroscience Director\, nwnoggin.org\nJeff Leake\, artist\, Instructor and Outreach Coordinator\, Neuroscience\, WSU Vancouver;  Arts Director\, nwnoggin.org\nMegan Slaker\, graduate student\, Neuroscience\, WSU Vancouver (research interests:  memory\, drugs\, peri-neuronal nets)\nJohn Harkness\, post-doctoral student\, Neuroscience\, WSU Vancouver (research interests:  genes\, drugs\, brains\, behavior)\nAngela Johnson\, graduate of WSU Vancouver\, Neuroscience outreach participant\, Alzheimer’s caregiver\nSarah Neveux\, graduate of WSU Vancouver\, Neuroscience outreach participant\nAngela Gonzalez\, undergraduate in Neuroscience\, WSU Vancouver\, Neuroscience outreach participant\n\nJeff and I will start with general comments about the brain and behavior\, development and decline\, and why music and art might provoke such powerful emotions and help to improve mood\, engagement and perhaps bring out some explicit memories\, depending on the damage already suffered by individual patients with AD.\n\nOur panelists will also introduce themselves\, and their own areas of expertise.  Questions from the audience (addressed to any of us) are very welcome about any topic related to dementia\, the brain\, behavior\, genes\, drugs\, music or art… 🙂\n\nWe’ll also have real brains (extra brains!) to examine up close.
